Term 1 and 2 were amazing, and our mid-year showcase “The Awakening” was a sold-out success, bringing all the talent and creativity of our Goddess Belly Dance teachers and students together for a show that is getting rave reviews!

We can't believe Term 3 is almost over but we are already excited to start all over again in Term 4 with new classes, welcoming women of all ages, all levels and teaching a variety of belly dance styles with our caring and experienced Goddess Belly Dance teachers in multiple locations; it has never been easier to find your inner Goddess!

In Term 3 we brought back Elysium, now as special 1.5 hour dark fusion belly dance sword classes on Saturday afternoons in our Croydon studio. We are already getting bookings for all classes in Term 4, so if you don't want to miss out on a place in your favourite class, or are ready to share the fun, please don't hesitate to enrol now.

THE 4-PART WORKSHOP SERIES FOR SOLO BELLY DANCERS, WITH  MA'ISAH

Do you want to step into the belly dance limelight, but are not sure where or how to start? Or are you ready to grow and develop your individual solo belly dance style? Then "Embrace the Spotlight" was created for YOU!

In this unique 4-part series of 3 hour workshops, Goddess Belly Dance teacher and performer Ma’isah will share her years of belly dance teaching and performance experience, Australia wide and Internationally, giving you the in-depth insight, theory, dance instruction and support you need to feel beautiful, confident and ready to belly dance solo in any style and at any level.

This is not just for beginners or experienced dancers, this is for any dancer willing to explore the construction and performance of a Bellydance solo, this workshop series is designed to support YOUR individual level and style, so you can embrace the spotlight feeling confident and amazing. THE ANNUAL NIGHT OF THE GODDESS

WILL BE HELD ON FRIDAY DECEMBER 2ND

The annual end of year student concert, Night of the Goddess, will be held at the Mooroolbark Community Centre.  Doors open 7pm, Show starts at 8pm.  Tickets will be available in November.  Look out for more of your favourite performers and some beautiful dancing by Goddess Bellydance students.  More information to follow soon so keep a look out.

"THE AWAKENING" DVD

Order the DVD:  Our bi-annual student gala was amazing! "The Awakening" featured a full show with live drumming by Bellyslap, and Egyptian traditional and cabaret belly dance performances, Goddess and Elemental belly dance performances, drum dancing Cairo-style, veil dancing, belly-burlesque, Khaleegi and American Tribal Style. This unique blend of modern and traditional belly dance and fusion performances by the students and teachers of Goddess Belly Dance from beginners to advanced was a celebtration of many styles of belly dance and now the DVD is ready to order.

DVD's of the mid-year concert “The Awakening” are AU$10 each. Please let us know as soon as possible if you want one, either in class or via email, as we print DVD's to order.  The official TranscenDance concert DVD (AU$25) is also available from the studio or by emailing us at info@goddessbellydance.com.au .

At Goddess Belly Dance our style is contemporary yet honours strong traditional influences from Egyptian, Classical Egyptian, Turkish cabaret, Folkloric and Tribal styles.  Our teachers bring influences from contemporary dance, jazz, burlesque, goth, funk, swing and whatever takes their creative fancy at the time.  

Our aim is to provide a fun and supportive atmosphere where you will gradually increase your fitness and flexibility, learn to walk with improved posture and most important of all you WILL learn to dance! 

We offer beginners through to advanced classes, some classes of mixed levels, as well as fusion and tribal classes.  Our teaching pace is specifically designed to be gentle, enabling us to provide a safe and supportive atmosphere for students to have fun exploring the technique of the dance while also allowing you the opportunity to relax your mind, body and spirit.

Celebrating The Sacred Feminine

At Goddess Belly Dance our core philosophy is the dance as an expression of the inner Goddess within us all.  We embrace the myriad of qualities that make us all unique expressions of the Goddess, celebrating all aspects of our feminine nature. 

Our Teachers will gently encourage you to explore your own creativity and feminine self-expression through the dance when you are ready.  We provide performance opportunities and support for dancers with an interest or passion for performance, and a fun and relaxed atmosphere for those dancing simply for fun.
